Mount Sinai, a 2285 m-high mountain, also called "Moses Mountain". It is next to Mount St. Catherine, at 2629 m, the tallest peak in Egypt. And it is surrounded on all sides by the peaks of the mountain range. According to Jewish and Christian tradition this is the mountain where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Mount Sinai is one of the most important sacred places in the Abrahamic religions. Thousands of tourist and pilgrims visit the mountain top. Most people climb the mountain at night, so that they can see the sunsrise from the top.
