Every year in February this Unesco World Heritage Site, the city of Røros, turns into a huge winter market. The fair is a national happening. One of unique aspects is the tradition of merchants that travelled by horse and sleigh and would often transport goods over long distances.. The first Røros Winter Fair was arranged in 1854.
